Another time featuring DM at main vocalist, Nicolas Muller wrote an always more ambitious album, pushing forward the huge step Antumbra already was. Devenir le Soleil is a synthesis of what Helioss did in its past, and adding a lot of new elements as well as many guests. Recorded between January and November 2018 from first guitars to last drum parts, Frederic Gervais from Studio Henosis mixed and mastered it like he did for Antumbra. And for the first time ever, Helioss features a real human drummer, the impressive Mikko Koskinen from Finland (The Lifted Veil).

Incorporating 9 tracks, the album features one eponymous 24min epic and progressive track on which most of the guests are featured. Based on a concept by Nicolas Muller and lyrics written by the editor and writter Julien Simon, this five parts track is the most ambitious piece of art Helioss ever made. In addition to DM, we can find 5 different vocalists and singers, percussions, cello and saxophon, with a lot of different atmospheres and arrangements.

67min long, Devenir le Soleil delivers on its 9 tracks a lot of brutality and agressiveness regarding it’s Black/Death roots, with complexity inherited from Progressive Metal, and a lot of epic and orchestral arrangements, but mostly focusing on guitars exploring every sides of Metal, from aggressive riffs to melodic solos. Adding the furious vocals of DM, between guttural growls and high pitched Black Metal vocals, among many other surprises.
