Årabrot, the Norwegian Grammy award-winning noise rock duo, have released a new Heart EP that takes us straight into the heart of the band. This follows their seminal album, Norwegian Gothic, which was described by main-songwriter Kjetil Nernes as "an amalgamation of all of our influences" and a good indication of what's to come.

The Heart EP is all about the present, with Nernes and his wife Karin Park as the creative spirits and driving forces behind Årabrot. The EP features four cover songs that span fifty years and various genres, including "Children of the Revolution," which dates back to the band's first recording session for their debut EP.

The EP opens with "Preludium," which features the sensual moaning of a couple engaged in intercourse overlaid with the saintly sounds of a church organ. This sets the tone for the rest of the EP, taking us into the holiest of holy and the carnal heart of the band.

The eclectic selection of songs on the EP is a perfect fit for Årabrot's signature gothic-western desert noire sound, with a combination of noise rock and 70s psychedelic rock. The result is a collection of songs that feels timeless yet deeply ingrained in our collective culture.

Despite their 20 years of experience and nine studio albums, Årabrot remains one of the most underrated bands on the planet. Nernes is considered one of the noise rock visionaries, and the combination of his underrated musicianship and genius vision, along with Karin Park's haunting and vicious vocals, makes for a powerful performance.

The Heart EP is an impressive display of the band's true power and their deep history with the songs. It's haunting, magical, and sounds fantastic.
