This edition comes from the AOR Heaven Classix remaster series, and it’s easily the definitive version of this long‑lost classic.
After the band’s excellent earlier album, OUTSIDE EDGE set their sights on breaking into the American market. They flew to the U.S. to record More Edge with legendary Canadian producer Terry Brown (Rush, Cutting Crew) at the helm.
The result?
A flawless 1987 keyboard‑driven AOR masterpiece — so polished and melodic that you’d swear the band was Canadian rather than British.
Every track hits the mark: from the soaring opener “Shooting Straight From The Heart”, to the heavenly mid‑tempo gem “Heaven Tonight”, all the way to the closing anthem “Never Too Late”, one of the finest melodic tracks of its era.
Unfortunately, the album’s fate took a wrong turn. When their label, 10 Records, shifted operations to Los Angeles, More Edge was shelved. The band waited… and waited… but nothing happened. They eventually returned to Europe and slowly drifted apart.
It wasn’t until 2000 that the album finally resurfaced via Virgin Scandinavia — but that release was a rough, direct transfer from the original tapes.
AOR Heaven Classix finally did this diamond justice.
Their remaster is crisp, powerful, and beautifully balanced, bringing out every layer of Terry Brown’s lush production. It sounds absolutely stunning.
