![]() Artist: Tony Mitchell Album: FAR AWAY FROM HOME (2024 Remaster) Band from: UK Genre: Rock, Hard Rock, AOR, remaster Quality: mp3, CBR 320 kbps | FLAC (tracks) buy Following the warmly received remastered reissue of Kiss Of The Gypsy’s debut, there’s another essential chapter in the band’s story that finally sees the light of day: Tony Mitchell’s Far Away From Home. Originally written and recorded in 2011 as a true follow‑up to the band’s first album — sparked by the original lineup reuniting for two charity shows — the project never materialized as a full band release. A few tracks surfaced years later on the limited edition of Mitchell’s 2018 solo album Beggars Gold, but now, fully remastered and officially released on his own label, the complete album finally arrives. And it’s a blast of raw, classic hard rock energy. After Kiss Of The Gypsy’s promising rise — three years of worldwide touring, glowing reviews, TV and radio exposure, and a rapidly growing fanbase — the band’s momentum was cut short when Atlantic Records UK folded in 1994. Mitchell, however, never stopped creating. Over the years he wrote for numerous projects, sang for Alan Parsons Project, Rick Wakeman, and Pat Cash, and performed guitar and backing vocals for Alice Cooper, Jon Anderson, Tony Hadley, and many more. By the late 2000s, after nearly a decade of writing, producing, and session work, Mitchell felt compelled to finish what he had started. First came a concept album in 2010. Then came the bigger mission: to craft the Kiss Of The Gypsy album he always felt should have followed the debut — one with the rawness, anthemic spirit, and emotional punch he believed the band never fully captured the first time around. The result is Far Away From Home. Mitchell reached out to the original members in 2010, but all had moved on to other careers. Undeterred, he forged ahead alone, writing and recording new material that honored the band’s roots while embracing modern production standards. The album is almost entirely performed by Mitchell himself, and that personal investment radiates through every track. What you get is a potent, unfiltered hard rock record — gritty, melodic, and bursting with the kind of authenticity that defined early Kiss Of The Gypsy. The production is intentionally raw yet powerful, giving the songs a live‑wire immediacy. Mitchell is clearly proud of this album, and rightly so: it’s faithful to his classic rock DNA and takes the listener on a fast‑moving emotional ride. No politics. No hidden messages. No grand statements. Just pure, unapologetic ROCK ’N’ ROLL. Tracklist: 1. SINNER MAN (03:44) 2. INSATIABLE (04:44) 3. I LIKE IT LIKE THAT (04:56) 4. FAR AWAY FROM HOME (07:49) 5.
